CEMENCO BLOCK MAKERS ACADEMY
The aims and objectives of the Liberia Cement Corporation's Block Makers Academy is geared towards educating block makers on the entire process of block making; from cement production, appropriate mortar mixture to block molding.
Participants are thought the composition of raw materials that produce cement. part of the aims is to educate the public and participants our different grades of cement and every region that the Academy is launched.
The Block Markers Academy is also part of our Corporate Social Responsibility in that blocks made from the Academy are given donated to various entities such as schools, hospitals, orphanages, official projects and community driven projects.
Under this Corporate Social Responsibility, beneficiaries of the Block Makers Academy currently are:
- Liberia National Red Cross - 1,200 blocks with 200 bags of cement to assist in the construction of its disaster management central warehouse.
- Liberia Nurses Association - 1,200 blocks with 50bags of cement to assist in the construction of their headquarters.
- Clar Hope Foundation - 2,700 blocks with 200 bags of cement to assist in the construction of an Old Folks Home in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.
- City of Ganta - 1,200 blocks and 50 bags of cement to assist in community work.
- Ministry of Commerce & Industry Republic of Liberia - 2,700 blocks and 300bags of cement to assist in the construction of its special project- first section.
- Vice President Republic of Liberia Star Fish Foundation - 3,600 blocks and 500 bags of cement to assist in the construction of its special project - second session.
- At the end of each section of CEMENCO Blocking Making, Participants are empowered with block maker equipment and personal protective equipment to commence their business.

- March 31, 2018 - CEMENCO Plant - 9 Participants - Produced 1,200 blocks.
- April 28, 2018 - CEMENCO Plant - 8 Participants - produced 1,200 blocks.
- April 17, 2021 - CEMENCO Plant - 12 Participants - produced 2,700 blocks.
- May 8, 2021 - CEMENCO Plant - 12 Participants - produced 3,600 blocks.
Outside Monrovia
- May 12, 2018 - Buchanan - 25 participants - Produced 12000 blocks.
- June 9, 2018 - Ganta - 10 Participants with one female - produced 1200 blocks.
In Montserrado, Buchanan and Ganta we were able to work with the county's authorities for all of our activities there. They were very cooperative and participatory.
